Ebastine is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of:

1. Seasonal and Perennial Allergic Rhinitis.
2. Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria.

How does Ebatin Fast work?

This medicine works by reducing the concentration of certain chemical substances in the body (histamines) which are responsible for causing allergic reactions. 

Side Effects of Ebatin Fast

The most common side effects are headache, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Less commonly reported side effects include abdominal pain, dyspepsia, nausea, and insomnia.

Indication of Ebatin Fast

Allergic Rhinitis: Ebatin Fast is used to relieve symptoms such as a runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, etc. associated with allergic rhinitis.

Urticaria: Ebatin Fast is used to relieve symptoms such as itchy, red-colored skin rashes or welts associated with urticaria, a condition that may be caused by a reaction to food, medicines, or other irritants.

Pharmacology

Ebastine is a long-acting and selective antagonist of the H1-histamine receptor. The blockage of peripheral receptors stays stable after repeated treatment. Following oral administration, ebastine is readily absorbed and undergoes significant first-pass metabolism. Carebastine, a pharmacologically active acid metabolite, is almost completely transformed from ebastine. Assimilation over the non-micronized definition.

Dosage & Administration of Ebatin Fast

• Adults (more than 12 years of age): 10 mg (one tablet) once daily.
• Children (6-12 years of age): 5 mg (half tablet) once daily.

Ebastine may be taken with or without food.

Interaction

When ebastine is used with either ketoconazole or erythromycin, the plasma level of ebastine rises, resulting in a longer QTc interval. Ebastine did not affect theophylline, warfarin, cimetidine, diazepam, or alcohol pharmacokinetics. Alcohol plus diazepam's sedative effects may be amplified.

Contraindications

Patients who have previously tested positive for Ebastine or any of its components.

Talk to your doctor if

• You are suffering from a severe liver problem
• You are already taking certain antibiotics to treat fungal infections
• Ebastine should not be given to children below 12 years old
